Feb 10: Stellenbosch lecturer Francois Steyn and his wife Tania, a tourism specialist, just completed a 6000km trip around SA on their MotoMia enzo bikes!
"Other than one flat tyre, we have had no problems at all with the bikes" Francois said.

A quote from their web site: "Our journey covered approximately 6000 kilometres over 19 days starting in the Cape Winelands, up the West Coast, all the way to Mussina hugging the Botswana border, before heading back past Swaziland, through the Wild Coast and the Baviaanskloof and returning to Stellenbosch. We've always believed that one does not need to need loads of money and a Sports Utility Vehicle to travel around South Africa. Even with the tough economic times and the rising cost of fuel one can still have an epic adventure. To live our dream we have decided to put our 125 cc's to the test and take an epic journey around South Africa's border."

"We completed our journey successfully by riding two new MotoMia enzo 125cc bikes around South Africa. This included a ride through the Wild Coast and conquering the rocky gravel roads of the Baviaanskloof!

Other than one flat tyre, we have had no problems at all with the bikes. We serviced the bikes twice along the road by ourselves and regularly checked their chains. These are awesome little bikes that shouldn't be underestimated! "

MotoMia corretto, long term test.

Feb 10: Gordon De Beer, who rode a java for two years, upgraded to a corretto. Gordon has completed over 17 000 trouble free k's and is ecstatic with his corretto. Not only is his cruise down the N1 every day at normal traffic speed of over 110km/h but he has been getting a steady consumption of 35k's per litre! that is less than 3l per 100km! Imagine how much you could save every month on a corretto.

The corretto is a 200cc road bike with an advanced balance-shaft engine. With single cylinder engines of 200cc and higher, engine vibration at high speed is a big problem. These high frequency vibrations not only end up causing long-term damage to the bike (fuel tank leaks, panel and joint cracks, engine oil-leaks) but also make for an unpleasant ride on long distances. The advanced balance-shaft in the corretto engine reduces the vibration significantly and will result in a longer lasting bike and a great, vibration-free ride.

The corretto is aimed at the person that wants a motorcycle that has the power and speed to travel regularly on freeways at speeds of up to 120km/h. Because the corretto has 18-inch wheels and wider tyres, cornering at higher speeds is easy. The corretto has a large 16 liter petrol tank so with consumption at around 35km a liter the range should be over 500km!

MotoMia on radio recently.

Scooters are a hot topic. Lisa Chait from Radio 567 Cape Talk had a chat about scooters as an alternative to current transport and she had a great response from scooter riders out there. Some callers like Cheryl and Chantelle even ride MotoMia scooters... listen to what they had to say:

Lisa Chait: lots more scooters out there

Cheryl, accountant and MotoMia rider

Chantelle, smiles every time she rides her MotoMia

Cheryl uses R50 a week on petrol

Chantelle uses R35 a week on petrol

Cheryl on helmet hair!

Chris, scooters will be like crocs

Cheryl on scooter safety

Lisa Chait, scooters are what we want to see

MotoMia bikes can go round the world... Twice!

This MotoMia mocca has been around the world twice in just over two years! It has covered over 90000km working hard for Forewood Motor Spares. Craig from Forewood thinks that MotoMia's are the best bikes he has ever used in his fleet. Craig likes the reliability and the fact that he can get low cost spares whenever he needs them.

Father Christmas (and his helpers) seen slicing through traffic!

Dec: Father Christmas and a few of his helpers were seen around Cape Town this morning on MotoMia bikes. I guess that this is the best way to get through traffic if you have to meet toy manufacturers on time!

Nic Marais beats traffic on his MotoMia!

Dec 07: This is Nic collecting his scooter from MotoMia - he said he had been riding a 600cc superbike and that it was way too powerful for running about in town. The MotoMia scooter he rides now is a much better option for zipping in and out of traffic jams and parking right outside wherever Nic is going.

Radio Good Hope arrives on time with MotoMia!

Oct 07: Good Hope FM's sports presenter, JP Naude, uses a MotoMia scooter to cut through traffic. JP said that finding a parking outside Newlands stadium on match days was no longer going to be a mission! Just think, when you have a MotoMia scooter you also have a free parking voucher... forever!

National Waterpolo Champs win with MotoMia.

Dec 07: MotoMia supplied the organisers of the national-schools waterpolo championship with a java scooter that a lucky entrant could win. The event was held at four senior schools with the finals held at the Newlands swimming pool. Here is the lucky winner being presented with the keys to her new java

The Landmark Marathon runs with MotoMia.

Nov 07: MotoMia supplied the organisers of the Landmark marathon with a number of bikes to monitor and support runners in the marathon. The bikes used were the mocca and espresso - models designed to sip petrol while being very easy to handle at low speeds. MotoMia set up a small gazebo and had some of the other models on show. Of the thousands of people that attended we had a great interest in the automatic scooters, especially from guys who had to park up to a km away from the venue! If they were on a MotoMia they could have parked next to the field!

MotoMia's cappuccino is a favorite on the Cape Coffee route!

Sep 07: The Cape Town Partnership (CCID) hosted the annual Central City Coffee Festival and over 80 restaurants and coffee shops participated in the festival. Two MotoMia cappuccino scooters were part of a competition that both coffee shops and the public could enter. The festival was supported by the mighty crew of Good Hope FM's breakfast show and exciting live broadcasts were made by Nigel Pierce and his team from various coffee venues throughout the festival. Here are some pics of the lucky winners!

It's a good thing that we all had a strong cappuccino before these pics were taken!
